Game theory is a study of strategic decision making. It examines the possible outcomes of conflict situations where all persons involved try to maximize their individual benefits. One famous example of such a situation is the Prisoner's Dilemma: Two criminals are interrogated separately by the police. Should the criminals stay silent or cooperate with the police to serve the least possible sentence?
